Hair Salon – Tempe, Arizona

As are the changes that happen in fashion and hairstyles.

I have learned so much and have made it my life long goal to share my experiences and knowledge with the next generation of stylists.

I have adopted on new training programs and management structures for my salon in order to maintain the great reputation that we here at Altered Ego have worked so hard to earn. This long time local business offers so much more than hair, skin and nail services.

I would like to personally thank you for choosing Altered Ego.

The hairdresser is…

“It is my considered opinion that the hairdresser is the most influential person in any community. When the public goes to a hairdresser, something happens to them. They feel safe, they relax. The hairdresser knows what their skin is like under the makeup, they know their age, they don’t have to keep up any kind of pretense. People tell a hairdresser things they wouldn’t dare confess to a priest and they are open about matters they’d try to conceal from a doctor. When people place their secret lives in the hairdresser’s hands, the hairdresser gains an authority few other people attain. I have heard hairdressers quoted with complete conviction on art, literature, politics, economics, child care and morals. I tell you that a clever, thoughtful, ambitious hairdresser wields a power beyond comprehension of most people.”

My Legacy

Altered Ego was established in 1983 by my beloved late mother Sylvia Hensley, I currently own and operate the salon with the endless help of my two amazing sisters Tiffany and Billie, my loving husband Chad and of course my trusted management team. We have lots of people that are familiar with Mom’s first salon… Sylvia’s Hair Corral. Since then the family business has taken many transformations as have my sisters and I. Any one that has known us for a while, knows that changes and growth around here are constant.

Respectfully Yours,
